Hydro One seasonal rates concern - EB-2008-0187 |
Preferred Communication Method: E-mail
Utility: Hydro One
Marketer/Retailer:
Best time to reach: No Preference
We have a seasonal dwelling, as shown by the contact information above. Last year our highest bill for electricity usage was $11.45, and often it was approximately $2.00. For over 6 months every year we use absolutely no hydro. But each billing period we are charged $37.73 plus tax for hydro "delivery". We recently had a rate increase, and Hydro One is asking for another rate increase in 2009.
Please deny them a rate increase for seasonal customers. To pay for non-existent delivery is bad enough, but then for it to cost over 10 times the rate charged for the product we use is shameful business practice. And it certainly does not promote
energy conservation. Instead, it encourages us to "get our money's worth".
Please deny Hydro One a rate increase for seasonal customers.
