Subject: Objection to Application for Delivery Fee Rate Increase



Dear Sir & Madam,



I’m writing today per a notice in our local newspaper regarding an upcoming rate increase hearing for Hydro One.



I object to the increase as the cost of electricity has been on a continual incline over the last number of years. As well, the proposed increase for delivery charges is 22.8% over a 2-year period. Well above the rate of inflation or any acceptable price increase over a 2-year period for business in general. If the typical rate of economic inflation is around 3% then the proposed rate adjustment represents a rise of approximately 333% per year!



Hydro One must begin to operate a fiscally sound and responsible budget that ensures reasonable and predictable cost increases which are paid for by the public citizens of Ontario. Increases such as the afore mentioned are a direct reflection on the operational deficiencies and lack of oversight by the Executive Team of Management and Operations. Fixing these problems should be the team’s first priority – respectable and experience business people will tell you that numbers do tell a story in any business or organization.



Sharp rises as have been duly noted are completely unacceptable and should be strongly opposed by the public ultimately pays for them.



I oppose such measures and call for responsible management and oversight of Hydro One.
