Subject: Re Hydro One's application to raise rates



Dear Board Members,



I must have misunderstood. Hydro One wants to raise rates by 9.5% next year and 13.3% in 2011 ?? !!! That can't be right. In a "have not" province that's going through a recession, with manufacturing industries closing down and thousands unemployed, they want to raise rates 22.8 % !! Oh, and let's not forget the delivery rates going up over 20%. For their 'green energy plan". ARE THEY NUTS ? How do they expect people to afford this HUGE increase ? What about seniors and others on fixed incomes ??. How do they afford this rip-off ? Not to mention the increased costs to what's left of businesses and companies in Ont that will be passed on to consumers. This increase will make the cost of living soar in Ontario. It's ridiculous.



If you want to see the cost of living sky-rocket, more manufacturing industries closing, more people out of work, a deeper and longer recession and a liberal gov't NEVER getting elected again, you can approve this incredible increase in hydro rates.



As for the "green energy plan" hydro one and the liberal gov't are so gung-ho about...

all but the most stalwart Kool-Aid–guzzlers have become aware that there is no proven link whatsoever between human CO2 emissions and the climate.



Earth's atmosphere today contains about 380 ppm CO2 (0.038%). Compared to former geologic times, our present atmosphere, like the Late Carboniferous atmosphere, is CO2- impoverished ! In the last 600 million years of Earth's history only the Carboniferous Period and our present age have witnessed CO2 levels less than 400 ppm.



By the way, what caused the Palaeocene-Eocene Thermal Maximum 55 million years ago?

Global temperatures rose between 5 and 9 degrees Celsius within several thousand years. The world at that time was already warmer than now with no surface ice. Was it the SUVs ? People aren't stupid. There is historical evidence of natural climate cycles.



Green energy, such as wind turbines and solar panels are inconsistent and undependable, at best, especially in cold climates like ours. They are extremely expensive and provide energy for very few.
