I am opposed to the requested increase by Hydro One and suggest that they make cuts within their organization before pricing their commodity beyond the means of its customers. They could start by having rural customers read their own meters and phone the readings in (as it is done in Manitoba) instead of paying for a company vehicle and employee who regularly misreads the meter because he doesn't get out of the truck and tries to read it from the lane with binoculars. I have watched this happen twice in my yard and have heard of it happening to others in my area. One vehicle and one employee times the number who are out there to cover the entire north should add up to big savings. And that is just for a start - I am certain there are many other cuts that can be made before resorting to yet another unaffordable increase.
thank you,
Dianne McCormack
Northern residents and businesses who are struggling to make ends meet cannot afford to pay more.
