I write to object to any hydro increase for Toronto Hydro. I have went back into my hydro bills and have never seen consumption under 960 kWh during a 1 month period. I would think that the only time anyone consumed less than 800 kwh in a 1 month period was during the blackout in 2003. They propose an increase of 9% to those who could possibly stay below 800 kWh.
The 13% increase more than likely applies to everyone. The City of Toronto has been dumped on continuously by the lavish spending at all the levels of government. I have complained of blatant waste and nothing is, has or will ever be done.
I have adhered to the peak usage times, dont have air conditioning, dont use the dryer until 10 pm and thats only if it rains for days at a time and I cant hang my clothes on the line, and am not home from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm, 5 days per week. Has my hydro consumption went down? No, since they installed the so-called smart meters nothing has changed except that my hydro bill is up, up up.
For example Hydro for 66 days for the period June 20, 2008 to August 25, 2008 cost me $164.32; Hydro for 62 days for the period June 26, 2009 to August 27, 2009 cost me $198.02 I believe they have already increased hydro substantially.
Please give precedence to the economic situation all over the world, and deny any hydro increase at this time.
