Dear Sir or Madame,
In response to the Notice of Application for Horizon Utilities Corp. published in the Hamilton Spectator, Friday, Oct. 3, 09.
While I sympathise in a way with any company in these turbulent economic times, I am very much against this proposal.
As we sit and watch hundreds upon hundreds of people loose their jobs today, having to turn to food banks and welfare to
sustain some sort of existence we allow large corporations whos revenues are hurt the ability to increase there rates for people who
can barely afford them now.
As a small business man myself I wonder who I can turn to in these tough economic times to increase my bottom line.
I must work harder, smarter and leaner than ever to try and maintain a bottom line which in itself has been slow to grow in five years of business.
We see almost daily in the news about over spending by large corporations and the ill effect it has on their employees and the general public.
I might suggest that a closer look at internal ways of cost savings vs. rate increases a more prudent thing to do in these times.
