re: EB-2009-0425 HYDRO ONE NETWORKS INC. APPLICATION FOR LEAVE TO CONSTRUCT
TORONTO MIDTOWN TRANSMISSION REINFORCEMENT
Dear Ms Walli,
This
is to advise my support of the Hydro One Proposal to tunnel between Bayview Junction and
Birch Junction to increase transmission in mid-town Toronto.
Surface solutions would have a very negative impact on my neighbourhood; including significant loss of
green-space and canopy. This in turn, would result in impact on energy requirements for local homeowners,
and a very negative impact indeed on our property values. Numbers of individuals from the Summerhill area have
contributed to the effort to "green" Shaftesbury Avenue and to prevent tree losses for many years. The deep tunnel
solution is an approach that satisfies the necessity of reinforcing transmission in this corridor, but which will protect
the neighbourhood we have worked hard to preserve and to improve.
As a resident of Shaftesbury Avenue I therefore wholeheartedly lend my support to this application.
Yours truly
LIz Ruork
