To: The Board Secretary.

The Ontario Energy Board had a Notice of application printed in the Observer Jan. 2, 2008 Life Section page B-3 reference Board File Number EB-2007-0905.

I have a real problem with this notice as follows:

# 1 = I object to the Date and Placement of the Notice. To be honest about this who would be looking for a very important application notice like this on the 2nd day of the New Year after just getting over Christmas and New Year's ?

= I also object to the placement of this Notice in the Second Section, Life Section of the paper. It should have been in the First Section page 2, or Local Section, or Opinion Section so that most people would have seen the Notice.

I personally would like to see the Ontario Energy Board do a reprint all across Ontario in the interest of Fairness with revised Dates to send a letter of objection and or to get observer or intervenor status.

# 2 = I also object to the 14% increase. Most people are getting 2 to 3% pay increase's and lucky to get that. Factor in taxes, cpp, etc. you really do not get much of a pay increase in net pay.

I would like to see a 2 to 4% increase But Not a 14% increase. This Notice say's the increase will amount to $2.75 per month on a 1000KW usage, But I am hearing on the radio and seeing on the Net that this increase is more like $3.50 per month in our bill and I don't know if taxes are in or $3.50 + taxes.

# 3 = If they really need this increase to cover the costs of projects, do they not have other Options to raise the money for their project's such as Bonds, The Bank Of Canada etc. The 14% increase will never go away once the projects are completed and paid for. Just more profit for Ontario Power Generation Inc.

# 4 = If they get this 14% increase we will also see another rate increase down the road in a year or 2, it's called the Smart Meter that we will have to Pay for on top of Higher Rates per KW for Day Time usage can you just imagine what our electricity bill will be then.

# 5 = When you factor in this increase with other increase's in water rates, property taxes, natural gas, gasoline for our cars, cable, phone, etc. I firmly believe this will be a Hardship Not only for Homeowner's but also Business's, as this application will affect most electricity customers in Ontario.

Bottom Line ,14% is just way too Much of an increase period.

Sincerely,

William E. McDonald
