Dear Board:
Council for the Township of Nipigon reviewed the recent Hydro One
Networks notice respecting proposed rate increases and felt it was
imperative that they respond.

In 2007 this region , both Nipigon and Red Rock in particular, have been
seriously and directly impacted by economic crisis and the recovery will
be slow at best.

An 8.8 % increase in Hydro for our planned industrial and our existing
commercial over the next four years is too much at precisely the wrong
time. The economic pressure on our existing commercial enterprises is
already excessive with a severe employment situation, in these
communities, then this type of increase could be the straw to break the
camel's back.
