Dear Sirs

I would like to comment on the application for an increase to the charges for electricity distribution

by "Westario". An increase of 21.5% seems excessive, considering that the basic electricity prices will be going up about 10% since the last increase in Mar/2005 on my bill. The Westario increase will push the ratio of (power cost) verses (delivery charges) rate from 76.8% to 84.8% . An 8% increase higher than the power rate increase. Looking at the Consumer Price Index for Ontario and the time frame for 2005 - 2007 the consumer price index was 5.8%. I would like to see the Ontario Energy Board reduce the increase requested. A more realistic increase would be to maintain the power costs to delivery charge ratio. People on a fixed income which is rated to CPI will be falling behind. The latest increase for power costs was excessive....at 10% and should have been lower to reflect the CPI.
