ATTENTION

Ms. Kirsten Walli, Secretary, Ontario Energy Board.



Dear Ms. Walli;

I am writing to express my opposition to the rate increases requested by Hydro One for electrical transmission for the following reasons;



1. It should be obvious to any Crown Corporation that a rate increase during this economic downslide is not a move that tax payers, particularly taxpayers who heat their homes with electricity would much appreciate.

2.Hydro One and OPG should be ordered to stop giving away millions of dollars in the form of so called charitable donations.Hydro one is owned by the taxpayers of Ontario and should not be giving tax payers money away to any organization, group or individual. If I want my money to be donated to any charitable organization for any reason,then it should be my decision personally to make that decision and not Hydro One or OPG.

3.Hydro one and OPG at present have a horrendous debt load. The users of electrical energy in Ontario pay a monthly surcharge in an attempt to pay down this debt load. This debt was accumulated due to the mismanagement of funds by Ontario Hydro's overpaid staff,and not the fault of Ontario ratepayers.



I therefore submit that no rate increases should be permitted until Hydro One has cleaned up past debt loads.This can be attained in part by better management of Hydro One [taxpayer dollars]funds.
