Subject: Hydro Ottawa distribution rate increase



I notice that Hydro Ottawa has applied to have their distribution rates increase by 6% and 7% effective May 1,2009. This should not be allowed to happen. Property taxes are being increased by a minimum of 4.9% for 2009. People are losing their jobs. The economy is very unsettled and this group wants an increase. How will seniors on fixed pensions pay? OAS rates will not increase for at least the next three Months. The Ontario Energy Board should not approve this increase and, in fact, should chastise this group for trying to increase rates in these very uncertain economic times.
