Subject: Re Proposed electricity rate increases



Dear Sir/ Madam:



I note that the Ontario Energy Board will soon be considering the application of the Hydro One Network to increase electricity rates.



As a homeowner with an electrically heated house, I find this disturbing. Ottawa winters are so severe that it is difficult to strictly regulate the use of electricity during the winter months. It would be very costly to convert my house to gas or geothermal.



I suggest that special consideration be given to homeowners who heat with electricity. This should be done only during the winter months. In the summer, rates should be the same for everyone.
